Briefly about the main thing:
"A very atmospheric, mysterious place, surrounded by centuries-old pines and cypresses.
With a magnificent view of the sea, from which this cottage is not visible (as it was intended).
There are many interesting interior details inside that characterize the personality of the owner
["... low lampposts, armored glass, mirrors, looking at which from a certain angle you can see the whole room, a grand piano, furniture with special stuffing"]".
The main thing is short for those born in the USSR and living in the Russian Federation:
"I would like to mention the guide, who tells a very fascinating story, just a complete immersion in the past.
The price is low."
Still, yes - it's nice to immerse yourself in the past and you want a lot [as an option, "... you could make a wax figure of Joseph Vissarionovich, it would be just super"] for 10-12 years (13 too much ...).
Afterword for prominent political figures:
"Everything is modest, ascetic, but tasteful" (Oleg Malyutin is a connoisseur of the city of the 16th level on November 26, 2023).
The historical monument is in pretty good preservation of both the exterior and interior. Most of the furniture, fittings and plumbing of the era of construction. It is located on a mountain, offering stunning views of the surrounding area, including the sea. Stylistically, it is very similar to the Cottage in New Athos. There is no point in listening to the guide, a simplified retelling of long-exposed fairy tales. Tickets for September 2024 350 rubles.
It's a great place. It's a scenic road and a very atmospheric place. It is quite possible to imagine the time when Joseph Vissarionovich lived there. You can take both a general and an individual tour. It's very interesting to hear the story. And the air! Cute cats only add even more atmosphere to this place. I heartily recommend you to visit.
A very beautiful view of the sea opens from there! It's breathtaking! We came across an amazing Roma tour guide. He told me everything very interestingly. If we manage to visit Abkhazia again, we will definitely go there again!
I really liked this museum! Everything is very clearly visible! Everything has been preserved in its place! We have saved the furniture and the whole cottage! The books are in the library just as Stalin himself used them during his lifetime! Well done to the caretakers of this cottage, that they have preserved everything so well!
It's a great place. Alice's guide is just super!! the story is very interesting and emotional. The cottage itself is an interesting place, it's just a pity that the large territory is not well maintained, it would be much more interesting to restore the paths, railings, it would be much more interesting to walk.
Well, it's a very atmospheric place. Admission costs 350 rubles, without a guided tour. The territory is well maintained, very beautiful. It was also interesting to walk inside the building, it was a pity that some rooms were closed, of course. The road to the cottage is quite passable, the asphalt is old, but there is.
I definitely recommend you to visit.
We are the only ones who have reached it. Snow, ice, silence, no roads, but we passed. Tranquility, clean air, water, river, waterfall and tranquility. We saw fresh bear tracks almost at the house (we walked back turning around), we were with a dog. There is a large parking lot at the entrance, and cafes are open. There is an observation deck, catamaran rental. Gorgeous views, memorable photos. Height differences, mountains, this place is a must-visit. This is love, chemistry💘
One of the best among Stalin's 5 dachas in Abkhazia. It is worth coming for at least one view from the territory. It is best to arrive early in the morning and not in the summer. Then there is a chance to enjoy the beauty alone. In January and February, snowdrops can be seen on the slope of the road, but you can not pick them, this plant needs 7 years to grow if it is plucked. Love nature, enjoy the beauty, breathe the healing air, because that's what people go to dachas for, right?
I am in love with Abkhazia, Sunny, nature is gorgeous, our room was beautifully renovated, the staff was responsive, greetings from two sisters to grandma Bella separately, and without Ahra the beach would not be so hospitable, Dmitry is the restaurant administrator, always polite and tactful, buffet meals, the food is very tasty, everything is baked or boiled, there is nothing fried, I have never used stomach pills in Turkey and Egypt, pancreatin daily. We had problems when checking in, we were checked into the wrong room, but the girls from the reception decided the issue very quickly and did not even have to move to another room.We are happy to have discovered this place, we will definitely return!
The dachas of I. V. Stalin are my separate love. The Cold River cottage is one of the most beautiful that we managed to visit. A place with a mysterious atmosphere that evokes a sense of awe. There are many interesting interior details and architectural solutions that meet the requirements of that time and the personality of the owner of the cottage. The glass on the windows is made of rock crystal, which served as a natural air conditioner, mirrors in which you can see the whole room from a certain angle, low lampposts on the territory.
The tour is very interesting, the guide is a professional in his field and told the story of the cottage very enthusiastically, with riddles and humor.
Very picturesque views all around!
The most beautiful place with such views!!! Uuuuh! Many thanks to the guide Roman: It's so exciting, interesting, simple and humorous to give information - talent! The tour was kind of inspired, no matter how pretentious it may sound. Thanks! (We were in October 2024.)
I was here in the summer and wrote an article about it in VK. I'm sure it's more useful than a comment. It is very atmospheric, you can climb in your own car, provided you have a good driving experience, sharp narrow turns without being able to separate from oncoming cars. You can park the car at the bottom and walk, but choose for yourself how convenient it is for you. Most of Dasha is closed to tourists, perhaps they will be ready to conduct an individual tour for a fee, but this is not certain. As part of the tour, you will hear no more than what is written on Wikipedia, so before visiting, I recommend reading as much as possible about the cottage, there is a lot of information in open sources.
It 's a great place . I was a family with two children. I really liked it. Good guides, we listened to three specialists in turn. The children are delighted. A place with energy. The new settlers have not been touched yet...A sense of belonging to that era... What a beautiful nature!
We reached the cottage on foot from the center of Tsandripsha along the beach.
We reached the white stones, a very beautiful place. A cold river is not far from the white stones. When they reached it, they turned up towards the sanatorium, you can take the elevator. We had lunch there (buffet 300₽/person) on the 11th floor, with magnificent views.
Stalin's Cottage is not far from the sanatorium.
Beautiful nature, I didn't want to leave.
The cottage is very well preserved.
We were lucky that we caught the tour. We learned a lot of interesting things.
We were at Stalin's dacha. The forest near the cottage was damaged by fire. The tour was conducted by a young 23-year-old boy - I liked it, with humor. but!!! ! WHO is going there for a tour or on their own - grab food for the kittens!!! A cat family lives there- they didn't even have water in the heat... we poured them into bowls - they attacked the water! And for bread.!!! Who cares about animals- feed the kittens and the cat (behind the bench ..) On the way to the cottage on the way there are hungry, skinny cats who run after a person, hoping for food and water...
We visited the cottage in 2023 during our vacation. Visiting the museum left only positive emotions. Magnificent views, the sound of waves, the smell of conifers. I was pleasantly surprised that despite the events in the country (the war, the devastation around), the cottage itself and the furniture are in good condition. We visited the cottage with an excursion, a very pleasant young man spent it fun and interesting. For all the beauty and ease around the cottage, inside the wall, the fear and horror of the leader's guests are still remembered. I won't say that I would like to be alone there. I definitely recommend visiting the cottage. Of all the dachas we visited, I liked this one the most.
Personally, I liked it, it is a very interesting and historical place. It's a pity that a lot of things are closed, I would like to see more, but some of us tourists are to blame, we want to touch everything, sit and lie down, but some things will soon be 100 years old. A beautiful view of the Black Sea coast opens from the cottage and the guide told a lot of interesting things about this place, I recommend visiting.
It's a very quiet place, there's an elevator to the cottage in the summer, but we had a good walk without an elevator. Have you met a hydroelectric power station, apparently for a summer cottage? It would be possible to fix it now, the river is flowing, there is a dam. We need aggregates, maybe they are inside?
I came to the beach. Beautifully clean. They took some kind of ridiculous price for travel by a company for 2 cars and 6 people. It's nice that the sand is being cleaned. The water is incredibly clear and blue like on the islands. I advise you to visit!
Clean, well maintained, beautiful. The tour was conducted by a very charismatic guy, who answered many questions. Thank you for the opportunity to "touch" the story!
An interesting place, we went without a tour, it was even better, I really liked it!
I really liked the mirror in the conference room, you can see the whole room through it!
It's a pity many rooms were closed, but the atmosphere of the past years is vividly conveyed in the visited ones!
We were on a guided tour on 06/27.24 . The cottage impressed with its pristine appearance. Almost all the furniture has been preserved since the time of I.V. Stalin. All this is thanks to the museum staff. There is something to compare it with . There were two more. Many thanks to the guide Olesya for a great tour. We have always been interested in history, but thanks to Olesya, we have filled in many gaps. We learned a lot of interesting facts about the life of the owner of the cottage. I advise everyone to make a mandatory visit.
I went on an excursion recently. Very picturesque landscapes on the way to the cottage, steep slopes and serpentines. I am surprised how the bus could turn on such sharp turns. I really liked the area and was surprised that Sirius is very clearly visible from the territory of the cottage. Quite grandiose. But I want to say that, as I understand it, there is garbage in front of the checkpoint. But I think it's fixable.
A beautiful place, the view is amazing, of course it needs to properly maintain the historical complex, and put other nearby buildings in order, it's a pity if it all disappears from old age and becomes unusable, many thanks to our guide Lasha, showed and told a lot of interesting things about Abkhazia, the people there are responsive, kind, yes, this people had to go through a lot.
I recommend you to visit. It's a very beautiful and atmospheric place. All the finishes and furniture have been preserved. Even the crystal windows. Large area for walking. I didn't want to leave here.
One of the most interesting and beautiful dachas of Stalin. The views of the sea and the forest are incredibly beautiful. The guys guides tell interesting and informative stories, do not forget to make a joke. The place is a must-visit: it is fashionable to study history now ☺️
It's a very atmospheric place. You can freely walk around the house. And the whole territory. You can stay indefinitely. Entrance is paid. It also works out of season. It's better to visit out of season.
I've been to several of Stalin's dachas, but this one really surprised me, it's a very beautiful and unique place. The silence, the beautiful sea views and the pine scent are dizzying. No wonder this cottage is considered Stalin's favorite. When traveling in Abkhazia, this place is a must-visit.
Among the wishes:
- start the fountain
- a photo zone with some remarkable thing (a tube, a cap, a phone)
A must-visit place in Abkhazia. It is very interesting if you visit with a professional guide. A unique place, everything is real, miraculously preserved to this day.
I like to visit Stalin's dachas and touch the past era. It is a pity that all this has not been preserved very well and is becoming more and more desolate every year. But there are a lot of tourists and the prices are not small for a visit.
A chic, cozy cottage. A place worth visiting. Cleanliness and order are present. It is a pity that the technical condition is not maintained and is not being reconstructed. Time and the elements gradually wear out this beauty.
I recommend visiting Stalin's dacha on the Cold River. You can walk around, look at the decoration of the house of the former head of the USSR individually, or you can also listen to interesting stories from the life of the Secretary General as part of the tour. But the most interesting and most important thing is the fresh air, views of the sea, nature, mountains. Be sure to visit, there are few such places and there are fewer and fewer.
I've been there 3 times already. A very atmospheric, mysterious place, surrounded by centuries-old pines and cypresses. With a magnificent view of the sea, from which this cottage is not visible (as it was intended). There are many interesting interior details inside that characterize the personality of the owner.
A good place, the girl's guide told the story of Stalin's life very well. And what apartments the leader had, the view of the Black Sea from a height is breathtaking!
One of the most interesting dachas. You can safely get there on your own (without a car), by public transport, then take the elevator of the boarding house and walk a little.
The tour is interesting, there is a lot of authentic furniture.
Beautiful view of the sea. There is no time limit, walk as much as you want.
I recommend it for a visit.
The interiors are quite interesting. And if you turn on your imagination, imagine this cottage with the protection of those times, it takes your breath away. Very interesting secondary facilities such as a substation, a pumping station and a stoker. The whole facility was autonomous. I recommend.
An interesting tour, thanks to the guide Olesya, she told me very interestingly, learned a lot of historical facts about Stalin. Because of such specialists, I want to come again.
A place of worship. Stalin's favorite summer cottage by the sea. Unfortunately, three quarters of the square, the second floor and the guest house are closed.
Traditional asceticism - if you were at one of Stalin's dachas, you were at all.
The best guide!! Fun, an excursion in the form of "clever and clever", a lot of interesting and few animal facts about the life of the Great Leader!!!

A wonderful place where you can enjoy the architecture and beautiful views. We walked together and, fortunately, we were alone on the territory for about an hour. We explored every corner of the territory and were delighted with such interesting details of that time. Amazing atmosphere inside and outside the building. And here is just a paradise for seal lovers;) double delight!
This is the second museum- the dacha of I. V. Stalin, which I visit. There are eight of them on the Black Sea coast. The museum is located in a very picturesque place, as it is located high in the mountains, and the views are stunning. There are unique exhibits that make it possible to understand the difficult nature of the owner: low lampposts, armored glass, mirrors, looking at which from a certain angle you can see the whole room, a grand piano, furniture with special stuffing. Looking at all this splendor, you can imagine what a titanic work was done by those who built and equipped it all. I would like to mention the guide, who tells a very fascinating story, right full immersion in the past. The price is low.
It's a cool place on a hot day, it's very fresh there, you can walk everything in 30-50 minutes, and you can relax in the shade for a couple of hours and enjoy nature. The entrance is 700r, it is easy to drive up by car. Stalin looked great, there is wi-fi
Another summer residence of Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin. One of his favorite dachas. There is a river nearby-Bogrypsta, it is cold about + 7 and, accordingly, the cottage is named after the Bogrypsta river-Cold River. The cottage is located near Gagra about 15 km away, near the village of Tsandrypsh. They say Stalin saw this place from the ship, he really liked the place and as a result the cottage was built in 1932-1933, at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level. The cottage seems to be built into the mountain, has a green color, it was the favorite color of the leader and for the purposes of conspiracy the cottages were painted in this color. The cottage has 3 floors and a balcony. In this place, 3 microclimates merge, marine, river and mountain. The cottage on the top of the mountain in a pine forest is surrounded by the famous Pitsunda pines, and they are famous for releasing yellow pollen in late March and early April, which cleanses the respiratory tract and lungs.Low lanterns are located throughout the cottage, their light is not visible from any point , but only highlights the paths in the cottage.
And because Stalin could not stand the smells of food , kitchens were built separately from the cottage, we did not see the kitchen at this cottage, it was most likely far from the cottage , or the food was delivered and the kitchens not here at all .The windows have thick crystal glass, 10mm rhinestone, it served as a natural conditioner. In summer, such glasses did not let the heat through, and in winter, on the contrary, they saved heat. From some rooms, the view overlooks the rock, there is an assumption that the rock also served as a natural air conditioner, which is why in some cottages, when opening the windows, you can rest against the rock.
Great guides, an interesting and informative place. Definitely worth a visit. The only thing to consider is that the cottage is located high up and it is very difficult to get to it on foot from the highway.
Stalin's dacha.Bagrypsta.Abkhazia.In front of the village on the left, you plant a dispensary and after 400 meters Stalin's cottage is better with a guide. It will be interesting
