A very interesting place, primarily for its history: Napoleon lived, Konstantin Pavlovich Romanov died, and in recent history it has been a state security institution.
Now the building has been handed over to the city and they plan to make repairs in it.
The most interesting thing. that on Sundays at 12.00 from the town hall to the palace there are group tours (9 rubles per person) with visits, including the "Napoleonic" balcony and basement. And a tour guide is, in general, "something" (in the good sense of the word).
Emperor Napoleon lived in this palace for 16 days in 1812. Here they decided to continue the "Russian Company" and move to Moscow. Subsequently, Napoleon regretted this decision for the rest of his life.
The entrance to the Palace is quite convenient, especially on a motorcycle - we came here on it.
The Palace looks very good, but the main thing is its historical significance.
Pleasant organic architecture. A convenient place for walking. 1812 Square is sparsely populated and you can sit quietly enjoying the architectural ensemble around.
It's a very beautiful building.❤️❤️❤️I advise everyone to visit 🔥🔥🔥

The coolest architectural monument. With an impressive story about the war of 1812... the great sadness is that this heritage of the city is closed to the public, because someone is busy - it shouldn't be like this. A cool place for tourists of the "cultural capital", but apparently this will never happen

It was interesting to see the place where Napoleon made the main mistake of the entire campaign of 1812

You can't get inside. The exterior is well maintained and not very interesting. Inspect. It is possible on the way to Chagall.
We were there in the morning, there were no questions about the parking lot, although they probably will be in the afternoon. About the palace - dignified, massive, at the same time without ostentatious show-off.
The territory around, the approach to the stream, the paths are almost vertical... - everything needs to be brought to mind, taking into account that this is not a wild nature, but an area near an architectural monument.
